Installed the mod per directions...game starts...lets me choose a car and
track...starts to load track thn back to desk top...any ideas?  F!2k1 works
fine..not a patched version straight from the box....

athlon 950
512 ram
gforce2 w 64 ram

  That is your first problem.  The mods require the game be patched to...I
think version 1.076 or some such number.  There are two developer
patches...some folks have used just one...F1 Relay.net or .com or
.org...(I'm rather vague tonight, sorry)  has a ton of files for dload.  ONE
of them combines the two patches and I think a nocd exe as well.  Dig into
those file and start fresh.  Patch F1 2001 THEN install the mods.  Good luck

will try that...right now f1 doesn't work either...lets me get to start of race
then ctd...will try the patch...

Try Simbin.com forums if it does not work.

Lowering video resolution and no aliasing could help.

CTD's in F1 2kx series are usually due to a missing resource of some
sort, like a bitmap or a sound file.  Patch the game and then check the
mod site for updates.  Then re-install everything.  Then check and make
sure everything actually got installed to the right place.  Some of the
installers aren't too good.  Can't remember if I had trouble with the
ALMS mod or not.
