SCGT:CTD F'n Cube Error

by Euan Gilmou » Sat, 30 Jun 2001 09:31:47

What's the deal?? I have SCGT running fine with all the patches etc.
Including the Ban Patch but I keep getting CTD then Cube Error
C:\Programs\EA\SCGT\CHTA\MAPS\CTIRE
<the CHTA refers to what ever track I'm racing, e.g. Chatham and there is no
CHTA folder or any other track folder>

I've got CTIRE installed along with all the other wheels.  It only does it
some times and I can't figure out when, why or how to stop it.

HELP

TIA

Haven't got any solution to the problem, but the file refered to in that
path above, is likely in a big data packed file.  A lot of games do this-
they have their own little virtual folder structure inside big compressed
files.

I don't know if that helps you track the problem further.

cheers

This is how I fixed my cube errors (may not apply to you but maybe does so
here goes...).  I have a ATI Radeon and by default 16 and 24-bit D3D
Z-buffer is enabled.  Before I enabled 32-bit as well (so: 16,24,32 enabled)
I had cube errors.

Where do you have Ctire installed?
I should be in Cmaps.mas

For CTIRE and other (X)TIRE modifications, make sure that you have made the
necessary changes to your ani.ani file (you can get access to this file by
using MASpuce or a comparable utility to unpack your scene.mas file).  The
text lines you need to insert should be contained in the readme.txt for
whatever car it is that you've downloaded that is now causing the problem.

If you don't do this, the game will keep crashing to the desktop.

Do you have CTIRE.BMP or CTIRE01.BMP?  You need CTIRE.BMP in the
/patch folder.

Hope that helps.
