Hey, dont know which Opel Omega you know, but our Omega does look very
good. Just dont order an Omega with the standard wheels, that really
doesnt look good. Go for the 17" with sporty tires and youll get an great
car. But I agree, the Omega in Holden Commodore-Style does look way better,
but the Omega offers much more technical features only missing a V8.

Whats that line from Days of Thunder. "What he did was rub you.  And
rubbing, Son, is racing"

Because the Aussie V8 folks have some WEIRD frickin rules to deal with.

You can't pit and satisfy this compulsory tire change under the yellow.  Um,
excuse me...  "Safety Car".

And what's with this curb-hopping rule nonsense?  Man, the refs were
dropping em' like flies in the race I watched Sunday Morning.

Weird series rules, but fun to watch.

They seem to get into a lot of "Truama" out on those tracks :)

Being a former owner/restorer of GTO's (I had four of them - A 65, a 66 and
two 67's) and a Goat fanatic (nothing after 67 though, please), I thought I
was going to be e***d about the new GTO.  I'm not really any more for two
reasons.

1.  I just can't dig the body style, especially the rear quarters around the
rear tires.
2.  The price.  GM is pricing it so only the most well-off will ever be able
to afford it.

That, IMHO, makes it a car that steals the name, but doesn't do anything to
make the heritge proud.  A real Goat is affordable horsepower, this ain't no
Goat.

Larry (Yes I'm a Goat snob) :)

I think the new Mustang as shown at the latest Auto Show is going to breath
some serious life back into the Pony...

Now that is truly an ironic statement.

These days horsepower is so easy to add that it really isn't an issue. The
Camaro had more power and look what it got it.....discontinued.

No idea since I have a Mustang.  If its anything like the Mustang's its less
than thrilling at first, but a converter and shift kit later its a whole
nother story.

 ps
My wife loves a TV show set in NYC about Firemen/Policemen/& paramedics
called Third Watch.  Here favorite character is a short tightly-strung cop
named Bosco.  Well we got to see his car last year and I immeadiately gave
her grief.   It was the HUGE BOAT MACH ONE from 1971(I think) the Pug ugly
huge Stang that killed the marque.  If he's only gone back another year or
so and got a '69 Boss 302 Fastback....  So now everytime I need to needle
my wife I bring up Bosco's boat.(then I duck)

The curb hopping rules were due to the indycar organisers having a whine
about the V8s ruining the track or something - they do it every year, but
no-one really knows why
