Same here. All his posting got me watching them too. I never was a fan of
the Winston Cup guys on road course tracks before so I never really
considered it. After watching the V8s I know that it could be pretty cool if
the track is suited for them bigger cars.

I love the "green eyed monster".

Do the production Falcons come with v8s?  If so I hope Ford follows GM's
lead and brings them over here tot he states. I'd go hunting ricers. lol

These Aussies know how to make a 4 door sedan look good, I'll give them
that, the Opel Omega they sell here in Europe doesn't look anything as
good......and aren't nearly as fast, despite being based on the same car

Holden's rule, I can't belive it's only a Opel :) Drove a Commodore
4.0L V6 200 Hp from Surfers Paradise to Melbourne. Great piece of
machinery. And it beat the ***out of the similary engined Ford
Mustang Convertible I rented in the US. Even if the engine was about
the same size and performance, the US automatic was a real bummer
compared to the aussie automatic.

LOL, rented a Mustang myself when I was in the US a couple of years ago,
not a convertible though, and while I enjoyed the overall handling of
the car, it was actually better than expected, the 3.8 V6 (no V8's
available for rental at the time) wasn't the kind of engine you'd expect
in a car like that, and the less said about the Auto box the
better...:-)

That's because they drive like even bigger morons than the V8 supercar
drivers

I have seen several users compare the Aussie V8's to Winston Cup cars.
A better, closer comparision would be to view the Aussie Supercars vs the
American Trans Am cars.  Both are road course purpose built vehicles.  I
think from just casual viewing the Trans Am cars may have a-bit more Aero
bodywork.  But the Aussies, at least at Bathurst, seem to have a little
more top-end.  It would be great fun to see a Rocketsports Jaguar run
Bathurst with the Supercars.

Thats why mine has a V8 along with plenty of goodies, but it still is an
automatic.

From what I have seen the power to weight ratio is about the same between
the Cup cars and Aussie V8s. I would tend to agree that the Trans Am cars
without the aero body work would be a lot closer overall performance wise.

Naa, its because they don't get severe penalties for touching the other car
like the Supercar drivers do.

How are the auto gearboxes in the new Falcons?  The previous model had one
of sloppiest autos I've seen for quite a while.
