Because JV has copyrighted his name. Unless Hasbro pay him, they can't use
his name. Not to worry, just as in F1GP and GP2 you can change the names in
the menus. One GC trait that I'm happy has stayed.

Just to keep the record straight JV has trademarked his name. It isn't
possible for him to copyright it.

It could be something like that. I also believe JV was not included
in F1RS. Probably for similar reasons.

He was included in F1 2000 and Formula One 99 by Psygnosis.
Sounds to me that Hasbro just "cheaped" out on that one.

So far for GP3 we have dated car liveries, no Jacques, all cars
looking the same, can't hear other cars around you...

I can't wait to buy this...from the bargain bin!

Are you sure about that TradeMark thing? I thought it had more to do
with Jacques not being part of the F1 Drivers' Association, thus not
being included in the license Hasbrough paid for.

But then, I may be wrong as happens quite often.

He wasn't in Official F1 Racing which was also based on the 98 season.
I'm guessing that they couldn't use his name when he was with
Williams, but can now that he is with BAR.

So you are too lazy to overtype "John Newhouse" with "Jacques
Villeneuve"? It would have been utterly STUPID from HASBRO to pay a
few $100.000 for this!

Well, he *did* give other reasons that he didn't like it...

That's exactly the reason.

ONE serious complaint (the sound), and the others just added to make
it look sensible...  :-)
