Has anyone had any luck making this work, if so I could use some tips on
getting started.
I think GPL/N4/N2002 Movie Studio 2 works better.

You really should try Movie Studio 2 (v1.2.1). It will work with Nascar
Racing too. Just remember to set your graphics mode to 640x480x16bit in
Nascar. Do not try any other resolution.

Or wait a few more days and I'll release version 1.4, which will be a
definite improvement. It will be faster than MS2 (in GPL, windowed mode,
you'll get very near 36FPS). It will fully support GPL, Nascar4 and Nascar
Racing. And it is synchronized with GPL/Nascar screen refresh so there will
be no "flashing" and you no longer have to mess around with FSAA-settings
to slow videocard down.
The new capture technology should also open doors for capturing from EA F1
200x, NFS Hot pursuit 2 and everyone's favorite simulator Rollcage. At
least in theory..
