MS ForceFeed should I get it?

Frankly, I'd get the USB version of the MSFFW since you are happy with it,
and keep the old one for spare parts.  That's exactly what I'm doing.

I personally don't think there's anything better out there to upgrade to,
except maybe the Momo (which in fact I tried, and it's been sitting in the
box after the first day because of the pedals).  I always seem to go back to
the MSFFW.

Stick with whacha love :)

I'm going to deal with the nonsense of Win9x just for this?

LOL!  I don't think so :)

Or quad boot Win98/XP/Linux/FreeBSD.  :-)

"Steve Lane"
It's not a Luddite thing....it's just NOTHING about an XP os that adds to
my ***.  So that $100 to $200 buckos can be spent on a new wheel or
better cpu or vid card....Criminy...I turn on the computer, I load the game
and say goodbye to the OS...Until I have something that NEEDS xp, I cain't
see wasting money on it.

John, I have a feeling you did say the same about Win95 vs Win98. And Win3.1
vs Win95. And Win2.0 vs Win3.0. And......
Maybe some users change OS for change sake, but it sure is a big step in
technology if you move from Win98 to XP. If you go from W2k to XP it's more
an improved user interface and some other minor improvements. But release of
WinXP is big step for "mankind". Because they finally ditch the 16 bit based
OS line, and move also the home users to a 32bit NT based platform. Now
everybody can have a stable system, and it will finally be supported by
hardware and software developers.

If your rig works and you're happy with it, don't change it. But XP would
have added STABILITY to your ***. If I don't make it to the finish line
in a league race, I want to be able to blame it on myself, not Bill Gates.

Different kernels, different design philosophy and a big leap forward in
technology.

9x compared to NT kernels no contest - NT wins everything hands down.

With all this Paladium ***floating around, they just might make a killing
on these!

I know this much.  I'm never, ever selling old equipment after upgrading
again.  Not with this Borg Technology on the way.

Yep - and hardware compatibility. 98SE supports much more hardware. Try
programming an old thrustmaster device under any variant of NT.

That's what XP is for.

XP has increased Game Compatibility far, far beyond what even Win2K
provided.

Remember, XP was designed to be a _home_ user operating system, and Win9x is
basically EOL.

But WHAT does it do?  What difference does this kernal or that kernal make
if I'm ***?  I have had disco's from bad internet connections, but for
the life of me,  after 3 years of online racing, I can't think of any OS
caused lockups during a race....I will admit my system has frozen, I have
been ctd'd before, I have gotten problems from time to time exiting
windows...but when I turn it on.  And start a sim, the os goes away and I
can't think of any os related problems.  Surely there has GOT to be some
reason to spend $100 or $200 dollars than just lockups?  Gimmie the cash and
I'll move up another notch on the cpu scale.
