The wheel works fine. I even have the V3 working with SMB using George's
glide patch.

Has anyone be able to get the MSFF Wheel working under Win2k?  Don't tell me to use the
version 4 Sidewinder Software because it does not support MSFF Wheel, only the USB
Precision Racing Wheel.

Would you please elaborate on how you got the non-USB MSFF to work correctly
in Win2K?  I have this OS and this wheel and cannot get it to function
properly.  The brake axis seems immutably reversed.

I want to know how to.  Since you can't install the Sidewinder Software, how can you
actually install the wheel?  Just plain wheel with pedals and games will have
forcefeedback?

The MSFF wheel is automatically detected by W2K.  It works immediately you
plug it in, including FF effects. (Look in the list in Game Controllers.)

Are you referring to the USB version?  I have a serial port version and I didn't recall
Win2k detecting the wheel at all.

Yes, it's there and was detected automatically, but it doesn't work
correctly.  I can't calibrate it in the game controllers applet.  The
steering and accelerator seem more or less OK, but the brake works in
reverse.  Plus, what about games that use the profiler?  The Sidewinder
software won't install at all.

Well, all I can say guys is that when I was trying out the serial version of
the MS FF in W2K, it worked perfectly (FF effects included) for me in GPL,
MGPRS2, etc.

Only the USB version, apparently.
Even then the FF effects are not right with all games (RC2K, GPL, F12K
and TOCA2).

Not true! It was the serial version I was testing.

Yes, my serial MSFF wheel works too. Just no options to play around
with. And the 3.02 controller software from MS won't install on W2K.
Probably that's why the wheel doesn't behave as expected in the games;
the defaults are probably not the ones you want.

I think what most people trying to run the wheel with Win2k are forgetting
they have to go into the game controllers panel and add the wheel. You can't
just plug it in and expect 2k to load it for you. Maybe the USB version does
but the serial one you have to tell it to load it for the first time.

Just go to Start-settings-game controllers- add and select Microsoft
SideWinder (Auto Detect)

Thats it your all done and it will have the pedals setup as split axis.
