Microsoft FF Wheel - Split Axis support?

Is there a way to enable split-axis gas/brake support in the Microsoft
force-feedback wheel?

It's wierd, because in the Windows test control panel, it does seem to
be split-axis. I can press the gas and brakes independently and they
don't affect each other.

But in GPL they show up as one axis when I configure controls. Then if
I test it in the pits, the brakes "cancel out" the gas.

Anyone know what's going on?

Make sure (of course ;) that you are using the DirectX option
in GPL rather than the "Generic". (If you happened to have
the non-DirectX option selected, what you see in the DirectX
joystick test probably doesn't apply)

Joe, go to http://www.ianparker.co.uk/gpl.zip and download the profile.
Unzip and put it in C:\Program Files\Microsoft Hardware\Game
Controllers\Profiles then select it with the sidewinder profiler and you'll
have split axis pedals.
Alternatively just setup the pedals for split axis in the sidewinder
software

Pay no attention to the little picture you see in the test control panel
applet when you're trying to figure out axes. That's not what it's for. You
adjust axes in the profile software, then when you enable the profile you
created, it will work the way you want (and the little picture in the test
applet will show you the *exact* same thing it did before ;).

Thanks to all who responded, it works great now! ;-)
