I was wondering if anyone has some lap times from Ferrari F355 Challenge at
Monza they could throw out at me?  Just curious to see what others can turn.

Cool.  I'm in the same range about.  I tried Long Beach (only once) and it was
very tricky.

Anyone tried suzuka? I tried it in full sim mode (had to use clutch etc)  -
was pretty damn cool :))

After 5 or 6 goes I managed to finish 4th in the race ... but damn those ai
are aggressive! :)

I've got Long Beach down pat.  Run 1:08's easily now (started out running
1:12-13), and when I get in the right mindset, run 1:07's.  I clicked off one
1:06.885.  Full sim mode.

I was happy with Monza where my fastest lap time was a 1:47.937.  Would of been
faster, but I got the car out of control entering the last turn.

I've heard mention of this game before, but had no idea it had Monza in it.
Is the track accurate?  What's your opinion of the car's handling?  What
other tracks are featured?  Will I have to borrow my nephew so I don't feel
embarrassed to walk into an arcade at my age?  :-)

Apologies for asking these questions again, since I vaguely recall a similar
thread before.  Hearing Monza mentioned caught my attention this time tho.

Thanks guys- I think I'll have to scout around and find one.  Can't remember
the last time I stepped into an actual arcade.  I hope they have Night
Driver around somewhere in some dark corner.  :-)

cheers

It's the modern GP track with the damn chicanes (although the one before
the straight before Parabolica (Variante Ascari?, Variante Vialone?)is
quite entertaining), and seems accurate to me, not a real F1 buff. The
car handles very realistically (comparing to my experiences with a
Nissan Sunny, GPL and other sims :), although it does seem to have an
excess of power at low speeds and too little power at high speeds.
Trail-braking is very easy in the game.

Suzuka is very nice in the game and at least has the right turns in the
right spots, not sure about any subtleties.

The track is accurate; the modern day F1 one.  The car seemed to handle
realistically, but I've never driven a real Ferrari F355 (anyone want to help
me change that?:).  Other tracks featured are Long Beach, Suzuka, Motegi, and
some other one with a name like Suma.

The game is really a blast in sim mode.  In the race, you have to be careful
not to spin the wheels at the start.  Shifting with the 6-spd and clutch is
fun, especially when power shifting and downshifting late into the turns.

[Monza in F355 Challenge?]

I think the last track is Sugo.

I drove at Suzuka today in Pro mode, what a superb sim this is!
Hope they can make a decent port of this game, including the physics
engine, to the pc... then it will be the long awaited GPL beater (or
equaler)!
