DirectX7 Sound probs

by BSMa » Sun, 25 Jun 2000 04:00:00

I've bought F12000 recently, and had to install DirectX7. Now in GP500 and NFS
high stakes, the player car/bike sound doesn't work. I can hear all other
sounds OK but just not my car/bike. I played both these games only a few hrs
before intalling directX7 so i'm sure this is the culprit. I think it has also
messed up my control panel games controler applet. I can't access it to
calibrate my wheel or gamepad, it says "necessary support files not found".
Anybody got any ideas as to how to correct this?

Thanks in advance

Andy

Andy,

Did you try to upgrade to DX7a at the Microsoft site? As I recall, there
were some initial controller and sound issues with DX7 that were corrected
with 7a.
