New Version Lfs Demo Test 0.1a
Hello All Players!

New VERSION 0.1A available

www.liveforspeed.com/LFS_DT_0_1A.zip

Or check the mirror sites, seen on

www.liveforspeed.net/download.htm
www.liveforspeed.com/download.htm

No patch, you have to get the full version. But there's a nice surprise
or two in there...

To keep your settings from 0.04 versions you will need to copy over the
following files :

cfg.txt
data\misc\cfg.sta
data\misc\fkeys.msg
data\misc\drv.nam
data\settings\*.set

Please report any problems you come across, in theory it should be more
reliable and has worked well under testing. Hopefully no more ghost
players and wierd bugs...

Have fun!

Some nice additions.

I was driving around the track in reverse quite a bit already but it's nice
to have some competitors now. Love the gloves.

File size is:  32.2 MB

Verrry awesome. Had some good online races already.. all of them backwards.
It's good to race people on a new circuit.. the GP track backwards is
awesome.. both esses are really hair raising, especially the downhill one. I
almost lost it completely there on the final lap in the lead. The speed I
lost  was enough for 2nd place to catch up and pass me.. very awesome!

There's a LOT more barriers and tyres on the road.. mostly to stop people
from cutting corners. I'm really happy about that too!

Looks really pretty, but still no fix for the Radeon problem (boo)
Anyone else out there have about 1FPS with a Radeon 8500 and the
latest drivers?

That seems standard for the Radeon, and it's a shame that it hasnlt
been fixed.  If you turn off TCL, though, it works quite nicely.

I get 30-40fps with quite a few AI, 1024x768, Smoothvision on 2Q and
all in-game settings on high, except the mirror, which is off as it
kills the frame rate.

To turn off TCL you need a Radeon tweaker such as Rage3D Tweak or
Radeonator.  See http://www.rage3d.com/files/?page=files

Hehehe.  These guys are going to surpass Rowan (anyone remember Flying
Corps Gold....they almost ran out of letters in the alphabet).

The good thing on this occasion is that this is before the thing has
even been released...

When it supports split axis and the Radeon cards I'll give it a try.

It *does* support split axis, and it is easy to tweak your Radeon to
make it work,

Ah ok, didn't know they had the split axis thing working.  I have tried it
with the Radeon but not keening on setting the TLC on and off between
different sims/games.
What settings are you using on your radeon and what FPS you getting?

The split axis was one of the first things they fixed - about 4 patches ago.
All you need to do is visit their web site and look at the notes or read the
forums.

There is a large section of getting the Radeon to work well. One of the
biggest fixes is to disable hardware T&L.

I just disable TCL and TCL backface culling.  I use the Radeonator
tweaker for that.  Very easy.

I normally race offline (never summoned up the courage for online
yet...still only doing 1:36's with the FWD drive car and spinning the
RWD ones all over the place...)

With three opponents and no mirror, but all other graphics maxed I
get:

No smoothvision: 45-50fps
2x smoothvision: 30-40fps
4x smoothvision: 20-30fps

4x is not really playable, and is a bit stuttery. All the above are at
1024x768. I assume it is at 32-bit, as that is what my desktop is set
at??? Anisotropic filtering is also set to max.

I usually play at 2x smoothvision.

Machine is AMD XP1700+ on (old) Via KT133A mobo

Win98SE
