I'm kinda torn between the TM and the Microsoft FF wheels. I ran in to
someone the other day that was reviewing the Microsoft wheel, and he said
that the 6 wheel buttons are all mapable to keystrokes, and you can set a
minimum resistance for non FF games. Of course, he hadn't tried using the
wheel out of Windows before I asked him.
I'd like to stick with TM, just because of their support history. If the
thing goes south on me in 11 months I'm quite confident that I'll get
satisfaction with TM. I also prefer the shift column instead of paddle
shifters. But if TM doesn't have the ability to set a resistance or program
buttons, I might have to go with the MS wheel.
They are both shipping at the end of the month, and the TM wheel is listing
for $40 less (wholesale Canadian) and it also comes up as USB OR Standard
Joystick. Is there anyone who can comment on the resistance for non FF
games and the ability to program the buttons on the TM wheel, and comment on
weather or not it's USB and Standard in the same box (adapter) or is that an
order option? I'm going to have to order mine soon so I can guarantee that
I'll get one before Christmas. I'd like the USB model but would that affect
DOS games?
Cheers
