GPL and Thrustmaster Force GT (Nascar GT) wheel

I have a Thrustmaster Force GT force feedback wheel (Nascar GT in the U.S.A.
I think), I know GPL doesn't support force feedback, but the game crashes on
start up with the wheel selected. If I deselect the wheel through the
control panel GPL works fine (keys or joystick). Anyone got any ideas?
GPL crashes after the initial logo page with and error in GPL.EXE.
Monaco Grand Prix Racing also crashed, but that has been cured by a patch.
The wheel works fine with TOCA and Colin McRae Rally.
Help, please.
Andi.

Yes.  I have the same problem, so do a few other people.  Sierra Tech
Support are looking into it.  TM claim they have tested it and it is fine,
but they aren't going to be let off that easily.  Can you email me directly
with your machine config so that I can see if there is a pattern.  I think
it is related to the DirectInput drivers that then TM wheel is using.  I'll
let you know when I find out more.

Jon.

Just wondering, is the TM Force GT good? Thinking of buying one but you cant
see them in Sweden yet.

Actually it is a bug in the game. Papyrus is aware of this and is working on a
solution. It isn't a problem with the wheel. Until they provide that solution
(presumably a patch) there isn't much TM can do for you. If you have any
further questions, feel free to email me.

It appears to be the same problem that is triggered by the Gravis
Xterminator.  Why it is that DirectInput is reporting the buttons on these
devices as axes is beyond me...
