Do yourself a favor and go back and read my posts again. Nothing's
gonna change what I post here or when.

Once RASCAR gets going, you won't see many posts at all.

You are showing that you have little regard for ettiquette and the feelings
of many regulars to this group.

Makes you want to join rascar doesn't it. I think John need to calm down a
bit and not be so defensive.

Really?
If you mean your item (3). You do not need any special anything to
create, and use, a FREE Yahoo or MSN mailing list/group.

--------------

Really why should "rec.autos.simulators" be a RASCAR support forum when
numerous alternatives exist. Laziness? Sure you have the right to post
where you want for what you want. This is club correspondence and
rec.auto.simulators is not that club and therefore RASCAR specific club
correspondence is SPAM within the rec.autos.simulators newsgroup.

My friend, what I meant (if my problem is comprehension, which it isn't,
yours is interpretation) to say is that in your complaining about people
posting about all these RASCAR messages, which really belong somewhere else,
you are not allowing others to speak their mind, which comes down to you
denying others the right to post what they want and give their own opinions
on the issue.

RASCAR: For Non-Rascar people that whined about it

by Brian Oste » Fri, 14 Feb 2003 13:05:06

Eldred tried, at one point to move the RASCAR discussion off this NG,
but was not successful because several of us (myself included) want to
use this NG.  We can't create a new NG because there is no garuntee
that everyones news server will carry it.

I really don't undestand why those of you that are so put out by
RASCAR posts don't just put it in a kill filter.  I mean really, in
the time it took you to post and *** about it you could have set it
up.

It always amazes me when people take it upon themselves to *** about
people posting ON TOPIC posts that they just happen not to care about.
I remember when CIV3 came out, and over on
comp.sys.ibm.games.strategic 90% of the posts were about.... CIV 3.
Of course several people had to *** about that as well... what the
hell do you think these NG are for?

RASCAR: For Non-Rascar people that whined about it

Maybe you should do somethign else with your time instead of nosing
into how much and what other people posted, just maybe i've changed
ISPs...and maybe my ID/nick is different under Linux and freeBSD and
my system at work... than it is under this windows machine...
I see your "manners" are dropping to regular newsgroup levels...
Don't assume someone is a lurker just because you can't find much on
google...and if you feel the need to judge someone based on their
posts...then i suggest you search in the right way ..so go search
again and this time do it right and you'll see i post regularly..just
the name 'willem' and this group's name under advanced will give you
results...at least you can see what i posted from my windows box and i
hope it makes you a more happy person knowing what i posted and
when...

RASCAR: For Non-Rascar people that whined about it

by Jan Verschuere » Fri, 14 Feb 2003 19:15:06

Gosh, I did a Google search... that's really gonna delay dinner around here.

Great, that annoys me too.

I already have a reputation for  being a grouch, might as well live up to
it.

Whether you really lurk or not, you acted like one of these annoying "me
too" lurkers that seem to crawl out of the woodwork every time something
mildly controversial is said around here. That annoys the ***out of me.
Usually, I let it slide because after all there's no way to police what's
being posted here and getting upset about it just wasted energy, but, for
some reason, I just couldn't this time.

I truly am easy going most of the time, but sometimes I just snap and lash
out. I've done that since childhood. I'm 33 now and I'm done making excuses
for it, it's just the way I am. I think I contribute positively to this
group most of the time, so those who like to benifit from that should be
able to take the odd wart now and again, IMO.

I did, the most recent post for that screen name is dated May 13th last
year. There are more posts where willem occurs somewhere in the name, but it
would be non-sensical for me to assume these were all the same person.

Frankly, I couldn't care less.

Jan.

Regulars? I was here long before many of the "regulars" were.

<sigh>
Wasn't a *** about anything ,was just a suggestion/request was all.  Sorry
I ever brought the issue up.  The way it was handled by John and some others
shows the attitude and I should have known better than even mention it.

RASCAR: For Non-Rascar people that whined about it

Thanks again John.  Sorry of you seen it as whining and that we are a bunch
of ***es.  All I asked was if you could maybe reduce the posts a bit out
of respect for others not involved in RASCAR and you went ballistic about it
calling people names and making threats.  Sorry that respect to others is
not a concern for you.  As for being here before many of us that is pretty
clear and always has been in this group, many people have given up posting
here or feel intimidated because of this type of thing but perhaps that is
the plan, to keep everyone in line and be the top dog.

Anyway like I said I have no issues with some RASCAR posts, just all the
individual ones seemed a bit much but again I don't see things changing so I
will no longer bring up the issue and will limit my postings as much as
possible and seek other forums to discuss sim matters.  Best of luck and
good day.

I ignored it until the 20th post about it.  You guys complaining
about it tripled the number of posts about RASCAR.  Ain't that
ironic...
