conditions?
My record hotlap in the Ferrari puts me on pole by a tenth or two at
most tracks at 90% AI, and I generally have trouble doing more than
holding position at that strength in a race.
However, switch the conditions to monsoon, set the AI to 100%, and
suddenly I'm 10 seconds faster in qual than they are?
I just ran a 10% race at Australia with the AI at 100% and Monsoon
conditions. That's 6 laps. From the pole, Schumacher beat me into
turn 1 (damn LC) but I immediately repassed him and pulled out to the
tun of about 10s a lap. Despite spinning and sliding off the track a
few times, I won by 40s. In a 6 lap race.
That just seems a little odd to me. I ran another qual session since
at this point I had gotten some practice running in the wet under my
belt (first time doing it in F12k2) and managed to qual 20s ahead of
the pack at 100%, while still feeling I was a good 5-10s off the pace.
My times dropped 15s from my normal Q time which barely takes front
row at 90% AI, while the AI's times dropped 35s.
I dunno if it's like this at every track, but that seems extreme. Do
the AI switch tires properly under varying conditions?
