wheel to wheel (wheeltowheelcom????)
it's a quick and dirty port of the F1 2001 beta.
There is a more complete 2003 effort near completion.
The biggest trouble with Indy are the tires. We had to alter the original
Cart physics to get tires to last on the oval tracks. On most setups..I
can burn up the front tires in about 4 or 5 laps. (250+mph on the
straights will do that) We did a California oval to finish our CART league
and the AVERAGE speed was 250mph. These cars are jusssssssssst a little
too stout!!!!!

There are several ways to add setups. And btw, I also found the
Players cars to be way faster than the rest of the mod. I suppose the
Reynard chassis may have had something to do with that. Blow by the rest
of the field but get lapped by both Tags and Carpentier.
You can create a setup named indyoval and place it in your save folder.
Then edit the game.gdb to include the indyoval setup. Most game.gdb put
the setup lines near the bottom.
Or you can edit your player file. yourname.plr in the save folder and
enable the individual vehicle ai setups.
Look for these lines:
Vehicle Specific AI Setups="0" // If 1, search specific vehicle directory
for "<track>.<qual/race>.svm" or "<track>.svm" or "ai.svm" before falling
back on game.gdb defaults
AI Realism="0.81604"
Change the 0 to a 1.
Then place a setup called either ai.svm or indyoval.svm in each vehicle
folder. This probably would also work in slowing down the Players cars.
Give them more wing or something. The trouble with IndyOval is the 4th
turn is incredibly bumpy. If you have Nascar THunder that version is much
smoother but does require some work with the terrain.ini file to properly
work with f1k2 mods.
