Does anybody know whether computerized driving simulations (or other
computerized training assistance) are used by pro racecar drivers?
I'd appreciate any help.
Thanks,
Pat Johnson

Patrick Carpentier had fun learning back in his rookie years the CART road
tracks using Papyrus's IndyCar Racing 2.
Jacques Villeneuve learned Formula 1 tracks using Grand Prix 2.
Many NASCAR drivers use the Papyrus series to learn the track on the
circuit. Many even raced online on the NROS, and now with Nascar Racing 3.

I read his fathers interview and he mentioned his son played GP2 a lot, and
maybe acquire consistent driving manner with it.

It's called Eddie's Hockenheim birthday present. It's definately a modern F1
arcade game because you have to play the role of a sporting driver <G>
MS
he said the braking points, cornering speeds, etc were completely wrong, but
the games are usefull to learn the track ...
is like learning Phoenix in F1GP and then having to race it in GP2 ... you
have not references, but you know how is the next bend :)
