I object to your opinion being so high and mighty and i reacted to that,it's
not an attack.

If you are so fragile to replies that don't agree with you why on earth do
you post in here..?

Take a long hard look mate.....attack....hmmm :)

Hey Jan

What a coincidence...lol

Well i have cooled down now...i have looked into the weight of the cars and
it has told me alot....so now i wont race anything remotely fast..hehe.

I made enquiries with Fiat about changing from my 1.6 SW Veloce to a GTA and
i received great encouragement from my contact,he stated that should i want
one i am just to let them know and i wont be in any queues.I was so happy i
almost committed there and then....but i thought waiting would be more
responsible as we dont even know exact details yet.(Alfa 3.0 bored out...or
new Opel 3.2)

So i thanked him and said i would be back in touch soon for sure.

156 SW Veloce 1.6TS

Bought new in July.

Perfect ever since.

Then.....last Sunday,fired her up....she died.

Tried again...she died.

She couldn't hold idle speed without me helping....so in a terrible 130 mile
drive home,if i wasn't accelerating the revs wanted to drop to zero.

Had to stop for petrol after my constant accelrating drive back.

Started her up again...FINE.

Has been ever since.

Is it a known fault....?

Daz AlfaBoy.

P.s On my journey up i had 130 miles of competitive friendly racing with two
great guys in their cars, one a BMW 330d and the other a Mondeo ST24....my
subsequent look at performance figures suggest I was a league below them
,but in real world driving, not alot in it.

156 SW Veloce 4 months old,2800 miles.

I was jet washing it yesterday when i noticed the water was forcing the
veloce trim(side skirts) to come away from the main bodywork.

I stopped instantly and inspected....wow,was i disappointed.

So to the questions.

1.Are all 156 veloce sideskirts applied in this way.?

2.Under warranty ,can I demand a more secure way of fixing them..?

3.Do you all agree that this is poor that the trims are held to the body
with double sided sticky pads..?

Until this incident,i was a blissfully happy owner,now i feel i have a
cheapo upgrade in my veloce.

I have Clarion radio with Alpine multi Cd changer and standard speakers and
its great,really powerful.
My glove compartment door is not tight fitting which is a niggle,it is tight
to the right side but 10mm away from the left.
So overall, great car and im happy, very happy....but an answer to this veloce
side skirt problem would be nice.

Example 4 This guy even refers to you as DAZ??? surely you should correct
him if this is the case?

Hi Daz,
Depends.
Is she to keep or are you not sure?
When you're not sure "dump her"!
This lesson of life has nothing to do with the SW/kid/lady but with
experience.
No spark in the beginning, no spark ever.
If you're sure about the lady, you can test how sure she's about you and her
kid.
Just demand that the kid goes in the back (because you don't want you car
wrecked) AND for safety reasons; isn't there even a law that kids under ..
years go in the back in an official kiddy seat?
If she doesn't agree her feeling for
a) her kid and
b) you
are not o.k.
DUMP!!
My father used to say "they" don't go by "a hand full" but by "a country
full".
Nevertheless I hope it's the right lady for you and you can love all three
of them with the same passion!

Eldred...I know Daz in VROC, and here he has delibrately posted troll mails
calling himself Morgan Boof, aka replies with only one reason to provoke a
negative response, Trolling is one of the worst internet crimes on forums
and newsgroups. Daz isnt using another handle, hes posting here under an
alias inorder to withhold his identity so he can troll...its a different
matter all together, he even denies being Daz Veloce until ive supplied
eveidence to get him to admit who he is...Trolling is one thing Eldred, but
Trolling people you know inorder to provoke a reaction and doing so
delibrately is a shameful act...

If i was Daz id be embarressed to show my face here again...

Basically is just sad....

From the F1gamers fourm:

'I played it online. Oh make that, i only play it online. I dont like racing
against AI in any game i have (N4, GPL)
You use gamespy. What i miss is no chat!.
You cant ask if someone wants to race at suzuka in the wet with you, or tell
you were sorry for the incident at T1 etc.
Further more, you dont have a clue on who is on the race, or what aids they
use, and racelength.
No password protection, nor set max players that should be allowed.. this
makes you get kicked out way too often.
I've hosted 5-6guys on my 256k/1Mbit and it worked ok. No major warping,
just small ones, that doesnt bother anyone.
I also tried it on 10Mbit hosts and 100Mbit hosters, and on their games,
16players with no warping was possible. Just plain smooth!.
No chat in car, but you can send predefined messages with ctrl+1 to 0'

Sounds like MP is just not as well thought out and refined as in Papy games.
I won't be buying because I've become accustomed to a higher standard. Once
you go MP you don't go back.

OTOH, you wonder just what % of buyers actually play online. Surely less
than a quarter. Maybe it's not worth the effort and expense from the
developper's POV. They know their target audience.

When Heat came out with it's pitiful online, this was another
excuse......(paraphrasing) "Online isn't a large enough market to bother
with, online playing doesn't matter".............hmmm...............starting
with Heat's first competition, N3, guess which company's games are being
played, still, with by far, the larger amount of players, and guess why ?

Hint:  it's not Heat, and it's not only offline Papy players  :)

It's the year 2002.  Online is CRUCIAL for ANY game of any genre.  Get
with the program FIA.

I respectfully disagree. :-) Wish I didn't though.

From everything I've read, online multiplayer still isn't a priority for
many people in auto sims (and many other games), at least not near what I
hoped it would be.

All these F1 sims come out and continue to sell really well with little or
no online multiplayer. GP4 still won't have it apparently. The Papyrus
NASCAR games really only sell in the U.S. The rest of the world doesn't buy
them even with their great multiplay.

Also, whenever I go to the main lobby online in N2002, there is usually no
more than 125 people there. :-)

I think we get a skewed view of what the public wants in this newsgroup. F1
appeals to a HUGE asian market, and also South America. How many asian names
do you ever see on this newsgroup? Chinese (1 billion people)? Japanese?
India (1 billion people)? Malaysia? etc. Not too many South Americans
either. There isn't even many French or Italian names who post here.

Also, don't forget how many F1 console titles and other console racing
titles that are sold without any online capability.

Maybe the reason you don't see so many posters, from those country's is
cause the have their own Usenet newsgroups, I know there are a lot of Danish
newsgroups which I did subscribe to at a time no more though now I only
subscribe to 3 this the nfs and abpms

See your point, and agree; offline players outnumber online.  In terms of
other races not being here, I assume that's because they have ng's/forums in
their native lands too.

I don't know; everytime some developer cops out on multi with the "it
doesn't matter" excuse, I try to think of another four year old F1 sim that
has the popularity of GPL, i.e.
I'd be very surprised if it would still have the following it does, if it
wasn't for it's online aspect.  Same with the Nascar sims.

   Compare to F12001, Heat, etc..........already ditched/being ditched.

But sales are the reality, and you're right below.

John
