It sounds harsh, but I think the servers & especially leagues will have
to enforce some sort of performance level. Kinda like the 107% qualifying
rule...except transferred to online connections. If you can't push X # of
kbs then find another sim and another league. The more drivers on a
paticular server, the more chance of one bad connection ruining eveyone's
session.
If enough modem users RETURN F1 2002 then maybe EA will free up enough
development cash for ISI to hire a real multiplayer expert...(heck it worked
for Force Feedback)

I tell you what... I am not a Nascar fan, but I am becoming a big one after
racing NR2002 in a league. Just to be able to understand all that happens
during a Nascar race is making me a fan. Don't know why idiots like the FIA
are not seeing that not doing everything possible to get their licensed game
developers to provide a stage where new fans will be born is just stupid.

The F1 races have 350 million viewers per race. The NASCAR races draw about
13 million. Who are the idiots?

and sometimes you always get kicked out after setting pole 20secs ahead of
the rest of the field :)
Um, about 337 million viewers...
It might be interesting to see the breakdown of ratings within the
USA. I suspect that F1 in the States probably gets the same low numbers
as CART and irl do, or if higher, not by much.
dave henrie
I suspect that the low numbers of F1and CART viewers is the result of one
thing-- advertising. Americans watch what advertising tells them to watch.
It's sad, but true.

Net Data Rate="22" // client setting (this way, it sends less data, which
makes it much better. Default was at 32.)
Max MP Players="4" (yes, maximum of 4 players online. My 256/1Mbit cable
handle this just fine)
Closed MP Qualify Sessions="1" // if true, the session will be closed during
qualify, so as to not disturb the participants
I start in practice, then when 3-4 guys have joined i start the qualify,
this way we dont get the hickups when someone joins.
If someone drives backwards, you just mark the name of the driver, and press
kick :) and he cant join you again since you are
in qualify.
