I've seen a 3.25 patch mentioned but I can only find 3.20 at the Logitech
web site. I was adjusting the percent, changing values in Core.ini and using
DXTWEAK. I still can't feel weight transfer very well and notice nothing
when changing gears. I'm wondering if it is because I have 3.20 and not
3.25.

To get 3.25 you need to run the update program from within the Logitech
Profiler software. I have version 3.25 installed and have followed all the
setting changes to the letter from www.simracingmag.com and I also feel no
weight transfer or gear changes. However, the setting changes did seem to
help my steering to be more responsive and precise. Unfortunately, I have
not been able to get GPL FF to perform in the way it has been described in
r.a.s and elsewhere.

Don,

Thanks.

I have version 3.25 installed and have followed all the

So we are in the same boat, but with different patches. The weight transfer
was one of the main things I wanted to get. I wish I knew why others get
this and we don't. Are you using USB? I'm not using it but that might not be
the problem.

I use the 3.25 patch and I don't feel gear changes.  This is with USB.  I do
believe I'm feeling weight transfer, however.

I think people mistakenly believe the "surge" of what is weight transfer
during gear changes is the "thunk" of a gear change itself.

If gear changes are modeled you should be able to feel them if you change
gears while the car is sitting still.  I don't feel anything in this
situation.

The only time I feel anything while shifting is when the car is moving--and
not much there, even if I manage to shift very smoothly.  This is what i
*think* is weight transfer, but maybe I'm wrong.

At any rate the FF turns the already wonderful GPL experience into something
truly amazing.

Weight transfer - is that this thingie that pulls your wheel left and
right on the straight due to the slacky steering/front axle?

If so, it works perfectly also in 3.20
