Worst N2 Bug

The worst bug I've seen (and it's worse in N2 than N1) is the car
inside the car trick.  During a close door to door lap with Bobby
Labonte he comes up into my lane AND my car!  I can see his helmet
where my steering wheel should be.  Half a second later, I'm sideways
in the bottom of the turn and he's still going like nothing happened.

Of course there's my spotter saying "there's a car low".   After the
2 in 1 car trick...  "Clear" ... "We've got a spin in turn 2" IT'S ME
YOU IDIOT!!!!

I get tickled at the spotter when he gets a little confused.

Usually there's no hole to go through.  He needs a "HIT THE BRAKES OR
YOU'RE GONNA BE A CAR SHORT!"

I had the same thing happen, and it was also Bobby. My son is one
of Bobby's biggest fans, he was sitting here watching me when it happened
and got the biggest kick out of the sight.

The one I don't like is when running on a short track like Bristol,  You're
going down the straight and the spotter says "Clear High" so you inch up
and WHAM,  there's nothin in the mirror and guess what, it was clear form
his viewpoint but not on the track.  You just got tagged in the right rear
and went nose first into the wall.  "If you're gonna spot,  open your good
eye Ernie".  They need to get the spotter to be just a little more accurate
or let us see whats going on in the mirror and I'll decide when its clear.
I liked it better that way.  N2's Mirror has a blind spot you could loose
Texas in.  Oh well, It's still great!.

Spotters aren't ALWAYS perfect in REAL LIFE either!  It's makes it
MORe fun aand exciting for the drivers, and it goes to show ya, that
you shouldn't always trust your spotter, it's just like how you
wheren't able to trust your mirror in NASCAR1!!

why not have a four way veiw like in flight sims?

like:
left window
right window
left shoulder
right shoulder

aparently papyrus has never heard of a hat switch...
which could be implemented on the thrustmaster "T3"

just a thought

What's a hat switch? I've never heard of one... :-)

Jim:
It lives on top of a flight controller, and is typically employed to
give front, rear, and side to side views. It moves like a tiny joystick
on top of the joystick. I can't figure out where to put on on my
Steering wheel though....

HaHa...Hope that cleared it up for you, Jim. ;-)
BTW Mark, I think Jim might have been kidding.

As for the hat switch (multible views) idea,  try this Kai. Close your eyes
(pretend your looking out the side window) going into T1 at Marty in
traffic. This should give you a good idea of how the 'multible view' idea
would work.

I'm sure Papyrus had heard of a hat switch, but how practical would
this be??? Seeing as most of the die-hard N2 fans have wheels, they would
be left out in the cold

Take it from me, four-way viewing via a hat switch would cause more
harm than good...For example, I have a Sidewinder Pro which I use for all
my Sim Racing....In Monster Truck Madness, there is four-way viewing with
the hat switch.   Here's the problem, try looking over real quick and it
temporarily messes you up for a sec. or two....I have wrecked many times
from checking views...I find it is best to rely on the ol' rear-view...

Now imagine that problem at 200mph!!!

It's how you turn the propeller on or off on your beanie!

the seat to look over his shoulder.  Maybe turning his head to look
out the window but, I don't think it would be too realistic.

Compromise, how about a 45 degree PAN(NOT instant switch, but sweeping motion)
(user adjustable rate) either direction. That's realistic. Would help those
blind spots. Anyone hacked the MIRROR values to just "shrink" the blind spots
yet???
