Does anyone know if you can use the t2 with need for speed?
If yes How do you do it?

It's possible.  You have to use the adapter that came with your T2 to
convert the T2 from a 2 joystick setup to a single joystick setup.  It
might sound complex, but all you do is put the plug at the end of your
T2 connecter, the one that connects to your Game port.  Normally T2
uses two axis, one on the 1st joystick port, the other on the second
joystick port.  This procedure combines both to use the x and y axis
on the first joystick.

You need to use the adapter that comes with your T2.  Plug the T2 into the
adapter and the other end of the adapter to where the T2 would go.  When you go
to the calibration screen the steering wheel will be the x-axis and the brake
and gas pedal the y-axis.  The shifter will be button 1 and 2.  The adapter is
used for games supporting only one joystick.

What about the T1?  Those didn't HAVE an adapter... :(

Yes they did, in the T1 it is a little white adapter. It's not big, so
you may not have seen it when you unpacked your wheel. Check in the
box and you'll find it.

Earlier T1's did _not_, in fact, ship with the white adapter, but
Thrustmaster will send you one free if you ask, nice folks that
they are!

Yeah, RIGHT.  Like I still HAVE the box after a year?!?
I wonder it t-master will send me another one if I ask nicely?<g>

Wait, so you either have to unplug the thing every time you use NFS, or change
all your other program configs to only use ONE joystick?(and lose features in
the process?)

I can't see that you do lose any features.  I leave mine plugged in all
the time - I don't see the difference in features between one axis on
each of two ports and two (still separate) axes on the same port.

I suppose that with the pedals on the second port you could use a joystick
and the pedals together, without the wheel, but why would you want to?
The only other difference is that some programs will auto-detect a T1
without the adapter, because of the lack of a Y axis on the first port,
but there's not much point in that either.

Apparently they will, as the adapter was not included with all T1s.
Give them a call, you'll be surprised how helpful they are.

I just leave it in all the time. I'm not aware of any features I lose.
BTW, almost all the arcade racers require the "single joystick"
adapter, not just NFS.

Email Thrustmaster, they sent me one free of charge!

-John

They're not bugs!  They're random features!

I said arcade racers need the adaptor - Screamer, Big Red Racing,
Whiplash, NFS, etc. The Papyrus (and some other) sims support full
two-joystick configs.

Ok, I stand corrected.<g>
Can anyone give me any info about Screamer or Whiplash?  Are they good, bad or
indifferent?
