Well, sort of...  Check out the Team17 homepage for a playable
demo of World Rally Fever.  No people to run over, but plenty of
sheep...

I downloaded the demo but it doesn't work on my machine. I get the
"Team 17/Ocean" title screen, and when I hit a key to continue it
locks up the system solid (no ctrl-alt-delete even).

The should put a reccommended age on this game. Something like good for
ages 3-10. I felt like i was playing an atari game

Keep looking for a good rally sim - you won't find it here :)

The demo is just an arcade game, sort of like Wacky Wheels or
something. Have you tried Big Red Racing (www.domark.com) - this is
a fairly cool arcade racing game.

It looks like a bit of a laugh (loved the sheep - no not
like that !!) but it owes more to the recent karting games
(Manic ckarts, super karts, etc) in look and feel than a
proper rally game, even an arcade type one like Sega Rally.

Nice graphics, shame about the driving model.
Why can't NFS blitter scenery around this fast?

I suspect you've answered your own question - Need For Speed also has
to run driving simulation code to get that realistic driving feel.
