128MB PCI card?

Does anyone make a 128 mb PCI card?  I've been searching the web and
retailer sites and can't find anything higher than 64 mb.

Thanks,

Tim

there is when all you have is  a PCI slot available.  Sorry I'm running a
1.8Cel, 32MB TNT2, 256ram

What kind of board supports a 1.8Cel and doesn't have an AGP slot?

There still isn't much point to it. PCI video cards just can't deliver.

That's an interesting article ... from 1998!! I'm going by my own stabs at
getting a PCI card to work in a machine that I have with no AGP.

Forget the 128MB cards, there aren't any for PCI. The fastest you can
get for a PCI slot is Voodoo 5 5500 PCI, it's only couple % slower
than the AGP version. There are PCI versions of the GeForce MX and
Radeon 7500 cards, but they aren't much faster than TNT2 as they get
badly crippled by the PCI (they were designed for AGP after all).

With V5 you are prone to have compatibility problems with newer games,
but while the newer cards will run more reliably, you won't be getting
much FPS to enjoy them newer games anyway...

If all you have is a PCI slot, then a 128 MB card would be better than a
64 MB card as he has a slower bus and would need as much video memory as
possible

To the best of my knowledge there is no 128 MB PCI cards, but even a
lowly GF4MX420 with 64 MB of ram, a card which you can find pretty much
anywhere would be a HUGE improvement over the TNT2 card, Hercules also
makes a PCI version of the Radeon 9000 with 64 MB of RAM

Thanks Goy!   I'm leaning towards the Radeon from what I've read there are
issues with DX8 on the GF4MX cards.

Well, the GF4MX doesn't support DX8 features, the R9000 does, however I
won't speculate as to which card is the better choice as I've never read
tests on any of them in PCI version, I'd say the R9000 card is the
better card if we were talking regular AGP cars, but who knows how much
the PCI bus is crippling these cards and nVidia may have done a better
job that ATI

I've had good luck with the TNT2 but have shut off alot of stuff in NR2002
and NR2003.
  I've found both cards (9000 and 440MX) for under $100 at bestbuy.com.
