N4 conversion to F1 tracks ??

by Gill Bate » Wed, 05 Sep 2001 14:09:04

hi

I am not a fan of NASCAR but running N4 on the Glenn and something
made me realise there is quite a lot going for the game
IF ONLY we could get some of these F1 tracks over to N4...........

There is quite a lot of power sliding to be had
and believe me, those NASCAR are real fat cats
with lots of momentum.....

I LOVE N4 !!!
but only on 2 tracks

The tracks will be coming.  I just don't know when.  I suggest you sign up
with the TPTCC league.  they usually get tracks before the public.

hi Dave

good NEWS !!!
where is the link for TPTCC

what does it stand for ?

LOOKS LIKE N4 does have potential
too bad papyrus was misled to do a NASCAR GAME
with that great engine instead of a street racing like
Grand trourismo but with a realistic physic engine.

Just imagine doing a real sim of Ferrari, Lambo,  Porsche
each with a real difference performance!!!

N4 conversion to F1 tracks ??

TPTCC is  The Pits Touring Car Championship.   Esentially a patch for the
Nx racing series.  Instead of ovals, we run on road courses.  At first most
of them were from ICR2.  But with the latest version of the TPTCC patch, for
N3, we have been running several GPL courses.  Mosport, the privately built
Willow Springs,   Road Atlanta, Silverstone, Monza, Brands Hatch are all on
this season's online racing schedule.
The TPTCC patche improves several factors, but you still have a Winston
Cup car at the core.  It's heavy and doesn't have a 6 speed gearbox, but
they have tweeked the tire grip and a few other items.
I think the plans are to begin testing an N4 version of the TPTCC patch
before the fall is out.  There are several GPL tracks that don't convert
easily to the N3 format...I would suspect those will be the prime tracks
that are worked on.  (Spa..works but crashes often in 3d mode)
Zandvoort...the hairpin is too tight, same with Rouen.  Of course...one
would think the ultimate would be the Ring...)  There already is a one lap
movie of a non patched N4 car running around Monaco.  You can get it at
theuspits.com  and that's where the link to the TPTCC league is as well.

ps...the bulk of the fast guys in the TPTCC league have moved on...and the
core of the group has been running the N2/N99/N3 patched cars....I expect we
will have a GREAT deal of difficulty adjusting to the new N4 driving.
I'm sure several of the hotshoes will at least drop in for a peak at
TPTCC(N4) when it gets released
