Makes me a bit worried....

From what I've heard from everyone one else... including some fortunate
few who've seen and played the alpha\beta... they say its all sim, with
the same help features as you'll see in GP3 to make it easier for the
wusses.

Not nessicarily. Sports Car GT was an EA title, but it was far from an
arcade game.

EA are known for their arcade titles, but as far as I can tell, F1
2000 will be very much a simulator. Whether or not they'll botch it up
in the end and stick with their usual arcade style of things only time
will tell, but keep your fingers crossed that they don't do what they
know best, this time.

Sports Car GT wasn't made by EA, it was made by another company and EA
sold/produced it.  All the physics was done by someone else.

Both SportsCar GT and F1 2000 are done by Image Space Inc.  EA is
just a publisher.  EA did tone down the physics of SCGT fearing the
mass market would find it too difficult, but they're not doing that
with F1-2000.  They spent alot of money to get the F1 license and they
want a ultra realistic product to go head-to-head with GP3...

Thank you for informing me. I hadn't realised a another party had been
involved.
