I play all kinds of games and have never tried many racing games. I
finally decided to give it a shot and bought a Thrustmaster Sprint wheel
and NFS III (don't laugh). While this has been fun, I find myself
playing the GPL demo more than NFS. I love the physics and challenge of
trying to keep one of these cars on the track, but I'm not sure I want
much more than the demo offers, I don't want to spend hours messing with
various settings on the car, nor spend weeks practicing to knock a few
seconds off my lap time.
I'm looking for a game with a fairly easy learning curve, but with
realistic physics (ala GPL, or as close as they come). Is this an
impossible comination ? Keep in mind I'm not a super hard core sim
driver like alot of the readers of this group. I want to be competitive
with the other AI cars after a few days. Given a choice between types of
cars I've always liked Formula 1 more than Nascar, but would easly get a
Nascar type of game if it met my criteria for a game better than an F1
type. I might even go for an off road type of game.
Summarize:
1) Good Physics
2) Not super complicated, or difficult to learn.
3) Graphics are not real important.
4) F1 prefered, but not critical.
Thanks see you on the roads,
Mike U.
