I would have loved to complete this one, but an early nudge from the
wall (hehe) left me with a damaged engine that apparently could not be
fixed in the pits.

when the 2nd yellow came out I was well on my way into the pits to
give the mechs another go at fixing it and was promptly penalized
for "entering a closed pit". 8-P

Being five laps down that early on in the race I decided to park
it. Hope you guys had fun!

Cheers,

uwe

Not really.  I was way off the pace, and got lapped by lap 13 or 15.  The only
car I was faster than was you, and you only had half an engine.  Even Sean, who
had pranged the wall was faster.  Being that much slower than everyone else
didn't seem like a fun way to spend an afternoon, so when I got lapped the
second time, I pulled into the pits.  I *really* need to figure out how to go
faster, otherwise this isn't even worth doing... :-(

I find it's easier to find guys who are slower and invite them to the same league ;)

Ah, *now* I see why you invited me to TPTCC-Regulars...<g>
The only people slower are those who can't even keep it on the track.

Could always get back onto Vroc (and into the 65s) Eldred: in pickup
races, it's just the luck of the draw. Sometimes you find you're up
against several aliens, but other times few people will keep up with you.

I have learned it is simply NOT possible to pit under green.  You'll get
screwed EVERY SINGLE TIME.

Meet the wall...HARD.

This is one of the things that I don't get about fixed-setup races.  We're all
using the same setup, but some are as much as 2-3 seconds faster.  Just doesn't
make SENSE.

One thing occurs to me Eldred - maybe you're trying to jump too far at once.
If, for example, your best time at a track is 23.5, would it help if someone
sent you replay and telemetry for a 23.2 and worked with you emulating it?
If that worked, you could then repeat the process with a 23.0 and so on.

If that sounds helpful, I've got some time off coming up and I'd be happy to
work with you. About time I paid back for all the server time you've given
the community. I'm competitive in RASCAR but get my ass handed to me every
week in FFRL so I feel the pain. The most inspiring sim video I ever saw was
of Andi Wilke doing a lap of Zandvoort (I think) with the***pit view on
one side of the screen and his feet on the pedals on the other side. It
turned on a light in my head and I've been working at it (slowly) ever
since. Come to think of it, I've been using his setups too - thanks Andi if
you're out there somewhere ;)

Anyway .... let me know if you're interested - no problem if not.

Regards

Personally, I think it's all about corner entry and trying too hard.

Some guys have it nailed, some don't.  I'm somewhere in between.

I think if we could get Eldred on Teamspeak, and someone would ride in his
car with him, we could take care of this rather quickly...

It's usually that 'One Thing' that is messing you up.  One of these days, I
will figure out what that 'One Thing' is in regards to Road Courses :)

Based on comments in the past, I have a feeling his problems are more
related to frame rate and controller setup. Without those two optimized, he
won't see much improvement after working on technique.

I think it's the line used and using that same line consistantly.  I can run
a real good lap sometimes, but can't keep it consistant.  I found that at
Chicago you could almost run flat out all the way around with new tires,
just let off for a second entering the turns to set the car, then mash it.
Of course as the tires wore, then you had to stay off the throttle longer.
