Well Ginger won another one. :-) Big surprise.
Thanks Tim for hosting again. It seemed like a really good race.
I don't like NASCAR cars on RC's, but I had a pretty good time I guess. There was a one guy after the race in the lobby who was ripping me while getting drunk :-) . He said I couldn't handle the cars on any tracks other than Texas, among other things. When I looked over the replay though I noticed that while I started 12th and he started 6th, I reeled him in by lap 7. I blew by him and took over 6th but then I got hit with a ***BF penalty on lap 9 at the inner loop even though I stayed to the right of the cones and immediately got back onto the track. That put me back at 15th or 16th, but I moved back up and finished 6th.
I'm sure I would of dispatched him easily without the BF, and I didn't even care about this race. Next time he will be taught a hard, painful lesson. :-o

Thank you guys for the patience.
If anyone knows how to check clt+alt+del from PcAnywhere remote with booting
the Host please tell me. The reason for todays boots were things running in
memory that I couldn't close from Remote. If David Krol (who owns the T1
hadn't been there we'd been screwed.
Attached are the standings and I have the replay if I need to send it to
someone?
Thx

I had a decent day. Came out 10th, which is a party-time finish for me at a
road course :)
As usual, I made it all the way to about 5 laps to go without so much as
touching a fender, and then everything went to shit. I think I hit the
rails twice in the last 5 laps. My back gets to hurting so bad that I start
fidgeting around in the chair, and I invariably end up screwing up
somewhere.
No one hit me in the rear end. Thanks! Well, there was one minor bump but
it was no biggie. I'd like to think it's because the RASCALS know me by
now, and know that if someone is behind me and they are faster, I don't
block or hold them up. I just hold a line and let them go around
uncontested. I don't make them fight for it and they are more patient and
careful.
Unless it's the last lap :)
Thanks for hosting Tim!

Not really... Ginger was "on the money" and drove a very good race. He fully
deserved this result.
It was, I've watched the replay and there was some good clean racing going
on all the way down the field. Some incidents obviously, but no more than
was par for the course, I think.
Sure, I got really whacked on those two bottles of beer. lol ;-)
Besides, some good natured ribbing never hurt anyone and you've just set
yourself up for some more.
<plants tongue firmly in cheek>
David, you're no longer playing in the hotlapper kiddiepool. You're racing
with the big boys now. That means you have to take care of all aspects of
racing, which implies knowing the rules. To begin with, there's no excuse
for losing the car on your own in a 36 lap sprint race. None whatsoever. If
you don't have the stamina and concentration to keep it on the island for a
mere 36 laps you have no business racing for a top 5 finish. Then, if you do
lose it, you have to take your medicine, go up the escape road and obey the
rules of the sport. None of this trying to recover and get back on the track
asap endangering your fellow competitors thing.
My plan, before you conveniently took yourself out of the equation, was to
keep up as closely as possible without hurting my tyres for another 8 to 10
laps and then start putting pressure on you as you struggled to navigate
around the track on completely shot tyres. Even if you'd pitted early, I'd
still would have had a shout as, with a lighter car and less laps to
complete on the new tyres I could have gone at least a sec a lap faster than
you in the closing stages.
Seriously, unless you learn to work with the car to acchieve speed, rather
than impose your F1 influenced will on it, you will never consistently beat
me, let alone have a sliver of hope to beat people like Ginger, Ian, John,
Brian, Mike, etc... the tyres will bite you every time (cfr. Kansas). This
is the thinking man's autosport David. Think about that. <g>

Merry <expletive> christmas. I ran out of gas on the last lap...
You're welcome.<g>

I have done that at the Glen, with a 6 second lead on second and in the
innerloop on the last lap no less. It can be quite frustrating indeed, ended
up scored a lap down after almost seeing the finish line with such a lead,
arghhh! ;-)
I was being sarcastic. It never surprises me at all when Ginger wins.
Well women usually don't need too much *** to get drunk. :-o
Hotlapper old farts pool?
I'd have to watch NASCAR to learn these dumb rules they have (like while on
the track during a green flag restart, being forced to stay behind a car
which is slowly entering the pits and watching the field disappear off into
the distance) which would be too painful.
Well I didn't actually do that. You wouldn't know because you were so far
behind after I passed you that you couldn't see, but I was trying to find a
way around Brian. One reason you were so far behind (other than my blinding
speed) was that you lost your car at T1 and went off course for a bit. So as
you said, "there's no excuse
for losing the car on your own in a 36 lap sprint race. None whatsoever. If
you don't have the stamina and concentration to keep it on the island for a
mere 36 laps you have no business racing for a top 5 finish." :-p
I didn't think I'd get a black flag for that and since you were so far back,
no one was in danger when I got back on track. Even JS who has a ton of
experience with NASCAR sims misjudged the game's choice of when it would
give a black flag.
Your plan <cough> would of failed because my tires were in excellent shape
even after moving up from 13th (not 12th as I stated earlier) to 6th and
tire wear was never really an issue for me in the race. As long as you never
locked them up and skidded, tires were fine for a one stop strategy.
I think my F1 influenced will is doing me just fine. Not counting freezes, I
have almost never lost control of my car or have caused yellows or crashes
no matter what condition my tires are in. Even with freezes I've barely
caused any yellows. Yes, on some tracks where the car handles like a boat in
mud I do get very bored and punish the tires too much but that's more by
choice than by not understanding what to do. I don't like NASCAR, and that's
not going to change. On some tracks that dislike comes shining through more
than others.
I'm not thinking enough? Ok. I'll take that into consideration. I guess the
fact that I've gone BLIND (freezes) for three seconds 1-4 times in almost
every race has had no effect on my results? I think my results have been
pretty damn good considering that tiny tiny bit of a disadvantage I've had.
:-)
David G Fisher
P.S. Had a freeze yesterday when the announcement from my pit crew said
"there's just five laps to go" after crossing the s/f line. Still managed to
keep control of my car and made it through T1 unscathed. Something only an
F1 influenced driver could do with torn up tires (must of been with the way
I drive) and his eyes closed for three seconds. :-)
