Well, the race had about 10 yellows, with most of them at the beginning
of the race, at the beginning of the restarts, and just a couple at the end
with position changes. Not exactly two grooves for racing like it is in real
life, because both grooves need the same apex as pointed out to me by
"dick-trickle". Studmonkey had some blinking problems with his dial-up
connection, and someone at the front at the start of the race was blinking,
but dont remember who that was. The race was restarted once after a couple
of laps for reasons unknown to me. The powers that be need to explain this
one. I am choosing to believe that it was hardware related and not because
someone was late or because of the pileup at the start.
I punted LTB racer near the end of the race by accident. I havent
watched the replay yet but I either pushed on the exit or I occupied a spot
that we both wanted. Either way I pitted when he did and made sure that I
came out after him. Not a rule, but I felt better bout it. I knew that if I
was faster, I would eventually learn how to pass him clean. This was very
hard for me at this track.
Thanks goes out to lapped down Roberts for not racing us at the end even
though he had a fast car on the restart. We eventually pulled away but
roberts was fast. I had the same problem earlier with***-trickle. I was
faster in the middle of the turn and would have to hit the brakes everytime
in order not to boot him. But, he would get off the corner and I never could
get a setup line to pass him.
I simply was worn out after this one folks.I had a lot of trouble with
my accelator petal. Its either on or off and sometimes it hangs up. Several
times, it would hang up and cause me to push up into the turns. That is what
roberts was seeing. I had to go recalibrate 3 times during the race. It
finally got better on the last recalibrate.
    See yall at NH

Guys:

Was great racin with RASCAR.   Clean and fast drivers.  I made a mistake
early and lost 2nd and 3rd gear and the engine went soar so i parked it.
Than
I went to the pickup races and got my 6 ranking, first i believe in short
tracks.

I especially like the enviroment.  No tension or flaming.  Very professional
group of racers and a group I wont have to turn my CHAT off. hehe

Ginger did miss the start because of being disco'd at the end of warmup, and
I missed it while talking to him on teamspeak as he was trying to reconnect.
We both started the race though from pit lane and then came upon the pileup
right after the start. Cars weren't moving, they were jammed up against each
other, and I didn't know how many were
damaged or taken out of the race on the first lap. I asked the group
if they wanted a restart and a number of drivers voted with a yes. There may
have been one, but I didn't see a single no vote on the screen. It wasn't a
unilateral decision. Just the opposite. I was relying on the group to let me
know what the carnage was because I wasn't anywhere near it when it
happened, so I had absolutely no idea.

Did you have chat turned off.  David ask and everyone i saw said yes.  We
had
seen that a few drivers had a disconnect just after warmup when we started
they
just got in.  It was restarted as the drivers through no fault of there own
hadnt gotten
into the race.   Good decision..   DW

Very strange. I started at the back. I drove all the way around, never saw a
thing resembling a crash. I'm not saying it didn't happen, just that I never
saw a thing. I did move up to 11th at the start though.   lol

You are welcome grub. You guys never pulled away though. I was right behind
you the whole time until you tangled with Larry. I had to work to let you
two race alone. I was staying back since I lost 2 laps due to a BF when
pitting on the previous yellow. Stupid Pace car. Problem with the pace car
was that it was doing the 45 mph pace speed as soon as it left it's parking
spot. Which of course took it forever to catch the front of the field and
was causing the traffic jams in T3 and T4.

My apologies to Neil for punting him on about lap 68-70. I pitted on lap 53
and got fresh tires. Restarted 13th and worked up to 5th behind Neil and
Ginger. I was low going into T1 and Neil went low on Ginger. I couldn't slow
up or get low enough and hit him just enough to spin him and me.

I've seen such things as well. All of a sudden there are much less cars
around you, or even none at all. The resulting crash is caused by the fact
that nobody can see the other car's actual movements anymore. Everybody
thinks the track is clear and all others are going smooth and straight -
which is not the case <g>

I've had the same problem many times, even in other games.  I had it cost me a
win at Watkins Glen last week(GPL).  I was faster than the leader, and could
run him down 'at will'.  But the fact that he was able to exit the esses so
much faster meant that I could never make a passing attempt.  If he'd slipped
up and let me by, I could have dropped him like a bad habit.  It pisses me off
that I *know* I was faster, but couldn't do a damn thing about it... :-(

6?!?  Wow, must be nice...  I think I have a 1 or 2 in speedway, 1 in super
speedway, and zeros in the others.  A decent LPI doesn't do a damn bit of good
if you can't *beat* anyone...  So, even though I'm a safe driver, I can't run
in any of the 'better' races because of my low rating.  Grrr...

The races limited to higher "skill" ratings are usually no better
than a 0-10 pickup. I hear this all the time. Since thew only online
racing I was even doing was in RASCAR, my "skill" ratings are fairly
low as well.

[snip]

No problem Kyle - it was one of those true racing incidents. No one
overdriving but just very close racing between 3 evenly matched cars. Was
fun while it lasted :)

Weird thing is - you get a belt up the back and it takes out 4th gear - go
figure ;)

The high-ranking SSW races tend to be a real pile of poo in my experience.
Usually servers are dominated by regular 'Good Ol' Boys' to that server,
everyone blocks the low line all the way around the track, and heaven help
you if you question something one of their buddies do, right or wrong.
