Has anyone else noticed that the Players Min-Max settings for
aggression, drag, power and traction are less than the top 10-12
drivers? Would this make us inherently slower no matter what we do to
our setups? If I change my settings and make them the same as Terry's,
will I be able to run up front? I know that the difference between the
Min-Max settings controls how consistent you are but would bumping my
Max setting in drag from 500 to 565 make me faster?

The player's ratings have always been lower then the top drivers.
Assuming you had the exact same setup and drove the exact same line (I
know it's impossible) yes, you would be slower than the better computer
drivers.  But because you have the ability to infinitely adjust your
line and car setup, it all evens out in the end.  If the cars are too
fast, drop them down to 98% strength.

I have not yet tried to tinker with these in nascar2 but
in nascar1; the levels on the player in the drivers.txt or drivers2.txt
did not seem to alter my performance at all. You can however change
your performance in the track.txt files in nascar1. I would assume that
this is the same in nascar2 but I have not tried it yet so I am not
positive. I hope this helps.

Increasing the drag value would make you slower.

It is possible that the settings are just for when that person is cpu
controlled? For example if I'm driving it those settings mean squat.

Parts of this game are like a job. I mean we shouldn't really have to
be asking this here now should we? We should open the manual and it
should plainly give us the answer.
