Saitek SGE and Win 2K

Hey Strangers,
It's been a while since I've been in here, but if anyone would know the
answer to this, y'all would.

Does the Saitek SGE software and the X36 HOTAS work in Win 2k?  I'm thinking
about going from Me, which I run strictly for game controller compatibility,
to Win 2k.  I really really like my HOTAS and gamepad, but also really
really like Win 2k.  If anyone knows, email me or post here.

Thanks,
Russ

In short the answer is no.  However this is from the www.saitekhelp.com
message board:

"We are pleased to announce that we will be posting beta Windows(r) 2000
drivers for our SGE-supported products to coincide with the start of E3,
the Electronic Entertainment Expo, being held in Los Angeles between May
17-19.
Please note that these are drivers only and do not include a Windows(r)
2000 version of the SGE programming software. A programming solution for
Windows(r) 2000 (and Windows(r) XP) is currently under development and
we expect to have this available in the fourth quarter of 2001.

This driver release will enable all of the SGE supported controllers to
work correctly under Windows(r) 2000; which means that the X36, P750,
P1500, P2000 and P8000/PCDash 2 users will have no problems anymore with
the mode/shift/aux buttons being "held down" permanently by Windows(r).
You will, of course, still be able to individually assign commands
within the game itself.

Look out on the regularly updated Saitek Website www.saitek.com for
further news and up-to-date downloads.

Oh well, between that and ATI's lousy Win 2K drivers (1/3 the performance of
Win Me in Q3A) it looks like I'll be dual booting again.  sigh
