Windows 2000. Standard non force-feedback wheel with split axis
pedals. On a standard gameport connection. Saitek job but no Win 2000
drivers from them to support it.
I have it recognized and functioning as a "6 button joystick with
throttle and POV hat". This seems to work sweet in the control options
thing, nice and smooth, no spiking whatsoever (new pots on the pedals
too). GPL is the only one to work properly with this however. It works
100%, no spiking, full control as normal and very nicely.
On other sims (Nascar4, GP3 2000, RT demo) I get major problems. The
controller seems to work, but it spikes constantly, every second or
so. Both the throttle and wheel spike together, so it seems like the
game is cutting it in and out for a fraction of a second.
I really like Win 2000 so far, but I think I'll have to go back to Win
98 if I want to use my wheel and pedals. I'm not keen on replacing
them with a new set as it ran very nicely before.
So has anyone encountered this behaviour before? Any
fixes/suggestions? Or shall I just type "format c: /s" right now?
