MGPRS2: Force Feedback?

by That Toff G » Wed, 18 Nov 1998 04:00:00

Hello all,

I was just curious if anyone thought the Force Feedback implementation in
MGPRS2 was much worse than F1RS?  There are so many more effects in F1RS.
MGPRS2 has almost no collision or off-road effects.  Is there something I
have set up wrong? I love being able to run at 1152x864, but really miss
the awesome FF of F1RS.  Has anyone else experienced this problem?  Well
thanks for any help/comments!

MGPRS2: Force Feedback?

Can't say I have. In fact, I thought the effects in MGPRS were better -
particularly the gear change effect.

MGPRS2: Force Feedback?

by That Toff G » Thu, 19 Nov 1998 04:00:00

I am using a Microsoft FF Wheel. I have the Forces set to 100%, and also
set to wheel (tried joystick too, same result).  I fired up F1RS (1.09
patch) with the same wheel and it feels so much better (especially going
off track and feeling the rumbles, gears shift feels better too). I am at
a loss for what is wrong. I am hoping the patch fixes the problem. If
anyone has any suggestions, please tell me! Thanks,
Mark

Wow, you can feel the gear shifts and rumbles with the MS-FF wheel?
Do you feel any grip or looseness or inertia in the turns? I am assuming
you feel the crashes with other cars and trackside objects...

MGPRS2: Force Feedback?

With F1RS, I feel crashes and wall-smacks. Not with MGPRS2. I feel only
crashes and not always. No off-road effects at all. Makes you wonder, if
MGPRS2 is just an extension of the previous engine, why such a difference
in force effects? Weird. The game is still good fun, but I want it all :)
Well, time will tell.

Well frankly I am not interested in MGPRS2. I am just trying to
pick you brain with regards to the MS FF and F1RS. You make
it almost sound like you feel all the FF effects mentioned in
FrcFeedB.TXT in the F1RS directory.  How many of the effects
listed in that file do you feel with the MS-FF in F1RS. Thanks
Much!
