GPL - looking for a new sound

Has anyone bothered to do a GPL sound that sounds like these "high rev
tuners" that are so prevalent on the streets today?  I'm thinking this
might be a good change for the F2 cars.  Or maybe just a good ol'
American V8

Thanks,

Rick

While you couldn't pay me to use a ricer sound, I did use the sounds from a
NR2002 sound pack for that old V8 sound.

The Brabham had a highly-modified aluminum (or aluminium) Buick V8, so a
NASCAR engine sound would be purrfect....

I had no idea about that brabby was a buick, but that was the car I was
messing with. Sometimes I guess its better to be lucky than good.  lol

It may have had a buick block, but everything else had changed, including
the firing order which completley changed the sound of the car, away from
the "traditional" v8 sound. Go for a drive in a ferrari v8, and it will
sound more like an inline 4 than a v8... just to do with firing order etc..
So unfortunatley the brabham didnt have that tough sounding v8 sound but
hey,  i put it in the game because it sounds tough

My favourite car is the Ferrari
The sound of the Red Horse is like a thousand blow flies.....very annoying.
I just turn the sound down, which for me makes it harder to drive :-(
A Better Ferrari sound would be great.

I like the winston_on.wav sound from the version4 nascar soundpack. You
can get the sound pack at theuspits.com under nascar section. Just copy the
winston_on.wav sound to fer.wav, assuming you use the sound patch.
I change my app.ini sampleRPM to make the rpm's sound alittle higher to ;)

Luke,

I don't think Repco changed the firing order until they went to a flat crank
(and ohc heads) in '68...which made it sound like a coupla inline Fours.

I have never heard a proper "ripping canvas" shriek for GPL's Ferrari (like
"La Diva" in the Open-Pipe Symphony CD...even tho it was a
horizontally-opposed 12 by then).  If anyone ever does one, they will have
my undying gratitude.
