I'm sure I'm not the only one who has expressed GREAT interest in the
track-pack principle being a MAJOR seller of a product. There are an
awful lot of fabulous circuits out there that we watch racing on - the
UK and German club circuits, the F1 circuit etc. And racing cars -
whatever spec - is useful to get to know them. I bought ICR for interest
and have raced Laguna Seca for about as many laps as all the others put
together.....and that's a lot. Why? Because it makes it familiar when I
watch REAL racing (Yes, 500cc. 250cc and 125cc GP Bikes, & Superbikes!!)
there. You make a "modular" system - ie ICR & NASCAR tracks
interchangeable (OK, I'm sure some car-specific and AI data would be
different) and you'll have a REAL WINNER.....I think you'd find track
packs VERY lucrative.....and since your ideas of time taken suggest FAR
less input than a major game re-write/update, just think of the
continuous revenue generated by a continuous flow of new tracks or
updates as the game and/or the circuit changes. You suggest the track-
pack hasn't been worth it - that's because you've not developed the idea
properly! _I've_ not bought the NASCAR extras because they don't
interest me.....but others have. The tracks I want might not interest a
lot of USA players. An Australian or German or Spanish set of circuits
might not interest either set, but might be a big seller elsewhere.
Just a thought..... B-)
Cheers!
