>Is it just me, or are all computer drivers out to kill me in ICR2?
They surely have quirks; there are spots in every track where I know
better than to even think about passing an AI guy; he'll swerve in to
me. you just get to know them... I accept it as part of the drive.
From BEHIND?!? that is weird; I don't race at 100% at most tracks, but
even where I do, like Laguna or Long Beach, I never get hit from
behind. Must just be different driving styles between us, I guess.
What AI setting are you racing at? If it is over 100%, I don't know
what they'll do.
If the AI car is an inch ahead of me at, say, Michigan right before
start/finish line, he'll cut in to me and take me out. If I have the
inch on him, he'll drop back. That's the pattern I notice, and I can
live with that; it is like having all the drivers be Andretti as he
was driving in the first 3rd of the season. Of course, he's been
mighty undeserving of the reputation lately.
I doubt it. All I can say is, I used to also complain about the AI,
and I just got used to it. Now if I get taken out of a race, it is
always by me. I instinctively know not to mess with the AI guys in
certain parts of the track.
No, I don't think it is a problem. I'm assuming you do know what the
bugs are- there is at least one traction one, but it isn't that
blatant.
The bottom line with ICR2 is that it is a sim, and in terms of it's
driving model, I think it probably does give people a good idea of
just how incredibly difficult it is to keep one of these *** cars
on the track. If someone tossed you in to a Bulls/Sonics basketball
game, to replace Pippen for a quarter, of course, everything for you
would be impossible. Well, in a way that is kind of what happens when
you start racing in ICR2. I know that I blamed the game for all the
problems I was having with it, but most of it was me. These cars are
designed at a level of performance most people just can't handle.
