The Pits Touring Car Patch 1999...

...is very good, isn't it? I enjoyed the N2 version, but with 3DFX and also,
with the truck physics - the 1999 version is absolutly fantastic! I'm just
praying that the Track Editor currently being developed under the leadership of
Dr. Paul Hoad will become as good as the now legendary GP2 track editor. I can
only imagine racing at Brands Hatch, Donnington and Thruxton in these beasts!

Maybe one day europe can have it's own version of NASCAR? The Americans can
race their Pontiacs, Ford's and Chevrolet's (and Toyota's? ...that's the rumor)
at Daytona, Darlington and Talladega and in Europe we'll have Peugeot's,
Renault's, Audi's, BMW's and Vauxhall's battling at Spa, Silverstone,
Hockenheim, Paul Ricard, Le Mans, Helsinki, Monaco and Monza! (to name a few)
Just like the ITC... but better! More organised, more cost-effective and more
popular. Of course, they'd have to abandone the French, British and German
touring car championships (and any others such-the-like) but it'd be worth it.
Then we would never be bored on Sunday afternoon's when there's no Grand Prix!

Idle chit-chat or possibility?

I think a version of NASCAR in the near future could be very likely.  I read on
Autosportmag a few weeks ago that a Frenchman, don't remember his name, is going to
race the Busch Series this year.  I heard about that Toyota rumor as well but an
error occured when I brought up the article and I didn't get any info on it.  I
would relly like to hear about it.

Yes, but what I would love to see is a 33 race Touring Car series around
Europe. Manufactures could sell chassis to teams around europe and also run
their own works cars. Just like the BTCC but on a Europe wide and much larger
scale! Races could be 4/500 miles long it would be very attractive to the
manufacturers and it would mean doing away with the complicated farce that is
the FIA GT Series...

Rob, come on, you live in Europe and you forgot to mention the one,
most important, fundamental issue.

How much money will Bernie make out of it? Type a number between one
and nine then get whacking that "0" key or you'll never see it...

Cheers!
John
