F1-2K FF/Frame rate question

Well, based on some things I've heard here, tonight I tested several
options for increasing the frame rate during races.  The only thing that
dramatically smoothed the game out was turning force feedback off, which
is a shame because while they're not huge effects, I was getting used to
the feeling of the curbs and such.  (Plus it justified the extra $50 I
spent for the LWFF over the non-feedback one!)  Anyways, I don't run
fraps or anything, so I can't give numbers or anything, but I was able to
turn on most everything (mirrors, smoke, specular, etc.) and the thing
barely slowed down at all, even mid-pack at the starting grid.  For those
who have been tearing their hair out, I really suggest saying bye-bye to
FF.  It sure beats the alternatives: it's really hard to place your car
correctly using spinning triangles as a reference - I much prefer tires!

Makes very little difference, if any, with my Guillemot Ferrari wheel.
