(Could Randy Cassidy or Eric Busch offer any suggestions below?)
happy now... I don't know if it's something with the BH6 or what...
tried the reference drivers, and they were fine for a while, but I kept
getting more problems as time went on, including a video freakout in a
league race at Monaco... happened three times in a row, same place on
the track in a timed practice. Had to reinstall the original drivers.
They did not lock up (tho I got to the session with only 2 minutes
remaining) in the practice.
But I still have the same problem as always with the Herc drivers... I
run GPL, then quit and if I try to go to properties afterward, I get a
blue screen. NOTE: I did NOT have this problem with my 233MMX.
So the point of all this is that I am considering a V3.... I liked the
performance of the Thriller a lot. But it's a tad buggy.... just a wee
bit, enough to be slightly annoying.

If you play GPL, and other Papy sims only, get a thriller 3d 8mb,
If you play ANYTHING else better get a V3 2000, it has a LOT better
fillrate, and in any other aspects
at least 3x faster then the Rendition V2200, but the difference is even
greater in most cases !
BTW, why don`t you pick up a cheap CeleronA ?

Why don't I pick up a cheap CeleronA? Well, principle. I still haven't payed
this one off. And, I kinda want to see what N3 requires for a solid system,
before my next upgrade.

If buggy is what you're looking to avoid...
what psychedelic textures in GPL! This is after limiting the texture
memory, so I'm not sure what the problem is.
I haven't had time to dig into it, but I'll be working on it this
weekend.
Brett
thanks for the heads-up! :-)

I offer this opinion aside from the texture problems I'm having in
GPL. I have no doubt that they can be fixed, and will be fixed. This
opinion is based solely on frame rate improvement.
My other option is to track down another CL V2 and do SLI. For the
price, *if* I can get hold of one, I would feel much better about the
value I'd be getting. I'd be losing the one-card solution that I find
so attractive, but with a Matrox AGP and V2 SLI setup, I think I'd be
able to live with the loss. It's just that finding another CL V2 12MB
looks like it's going to be a hassle.
