FI GT Mod V3 Question

by JTBur » Sat, 08 Jun 2002 11:32:23

I have installed F1 GT Mod 2 with the patch - so I guess it is V2.1.  I want
to install V3.  Do I need to uninstall V2 first or can I install right over
V2?

taken from GT Mod v.3 readme...

snip:

BEFORE YOU BEGIN:

Before you begin the installation process, you MUST REMOVE ALL TRACES
of previous versions of the FIA GT Mod. It is likely that old files
with the same names and extensions as the new ones will interfere with
the correct operation of the Mod.  Therefore we recommend the removal
of ALL previous files and directories and begin with your original F1
2001 installation.  Ignore this step at your peril.

Your F1 2001 game should also be unmodified. To save space in the
download (and also to avoid re-distributing files that came with the
original game, which would constitute a violation of copyright law)
the installation routine copies many of the files it needs from the
original game directories on your system. Therefore it is very
important that your full install of the game is intact, i.e. that you
haven't removed any files, renamed them, etc. You have been warned.
If following installation the mod fails to operate correctly, it is
almost certain that your game was not in its original state before the
installation process. Unfortunately due to enormous variety of
available modifications to F1 2001, this is something entirely beyond
our control.  So it is in your hands to ensure that your game meets
these requirements.

You have to remove all traces of FIA GT V2 before you install V3
