How do you adjust colors for Direct3D in N3?

I have been using glide as the default in Nascar3 but I tried Direct3D
and I seem to get a much better frame rate. The only problem is that
when using Direct3D in Nascar3 the colors are all washed out and its
hard to focus because it looks so bad. The properties tab for my
voodoo2 card does not have color adjustments for Direct3D like it does
for glide. Does anyone know how to adjust the colors and also what
refresh rate would you recommend? 60 mhz is the default setting.
