I'd like to hear about peoples' experiences with force feedback steering
wheels.  I've been playing F1GP and F1GP2 for years with a CH FSPro joystick
and have just bought F1RS so I'm thinking of getting a wheel.  I'd also be
interested in knowing which of the conventional wheels is the best to go for
(must be less than 175).

Thanks

I have the Ultimate Per4mer FF, and I think at the moment it is the only
one!
Have no doubts about it, it is superb, especially with the new iForce2
patches for F1RS and POD. Cart PR is also superb with the wheel - just feel
those rumble strips at Miami!
It costs 150, but it's worth every penny.

Scally,

I have used a wheel since day one, I went through all the Thrustmaster
series each one lasted about 3 to 8 weeks then it was a hassel fixing
broken springs and replacing bunji cords, if you buy a Thurstmaster
you will kick yourself after. I found a wheel that is so much better
it is built by hand like a tank and so smooth that you think that you
are the best driver in the world, It's the TSW2   Wheel and pedals for

about 200.00 + or - a few dollars (US) You can see their line of
wheels at http://soli.inav.net/~thomas/ Please take a look and let me
know what you think, I think that you will fall in love with this

You're a very unlucky guy... ;^)
Although TM wheels are not made for eternity, my GP1 works perfectly for
almost 2 years (wheel pot replaced once). Quite worth the money...

NOT TO HURT YOUR FEELINGS BUT YOU ARE THE LUCKY ONE. You also must not read
the news groups as much as I do,
everyone complains about Thrustmaster being a toy compared to the
TSW or TSW2. It was nice to hear from you, all are welcome to their
opinion.
THANKS FOR THE REPLY

Why the screaming, buddy? Why would your oppinion hurt my feelings?

There are a lot of people with my experience. As I said, TM stuff is not
built for eternity, but it's not crap. Compared to a device, costing
more than double, oh well, you can call it a toy.

BTW, my reply was absolutly free! Glad you liked it! ;^)

HIYA DAVID,
I have not found anything wrong with my TSW, even if there was they have
a life time warranty. The TSW has increased my lap times 2 mph. at all
tracks it is so easy to drive, that I kick myself for the Thrustmasters at
I went through, plastic toys. The TSW and TSW2 are built by hand and will
last a life time, I race in 3 leagues, no problem no breaking springs or
bunji cords in the TSW or TSW2. I hope this helped you, please let me know
if you want to ask anymore questions, I will be happy to answer them for
you. THANKS

About $220

One month

Pros:

Quality. Parts welded together or securely bolted. Lifetime warranty.
Weight. Feels like a steering wheel. Not like lightweight plastic.
Realistic resistance. Uses steel springs for resistance, not elastic
bungies.
Can add clutch, more buttons, real MOMO racing wheel.
More time racing, less time changing bungies and pots.

Cons:

Takes lots of desktop space, clunky clamp (easily modified)

I thought the MOMO wheel was only for the more expensive models.
When I looked at the TSW2, the wheel sure doesn't resemble a Momo
wheel to me.

HIYA NATHAN,
The TSW2 is made in a way that allows the user to add on extras as they
want them. The TSW2 can be ordered with a MOMO WHEEL if you want or order
the TSW2 and when you want the MOMO send for it. The TSW2 is a great wheel
and you save a few dollars over the TSW, the TSW2 is the only wheel on the
market warranted for life.
THANKS FOR THE QUESTIONS
Bob Hawkins A HAPPY TSW USER

Read the message, does it not say "can add clutch, more buttons, real
Momo racing wheel"?

Oops, :-)
And just to clarify, I'm not putting down the TSW range at all. In
fact, I wish Australians had more choice when it comes to wheels.

My question is, if you buy the cheaper TSW2, and then go adding all
this stuff on, wouldn't it be better to buy the higher model with all
the (extra) good bits on it in the first place?

Maybe, but I look at it this way... I can't afford the full-everything
TSW right now, but I can buy the TSW2. Then I can add all the other bits
as time goes by.

In the meantime, I'm racing with a super quality wheel instead of
waiting till I can afford it all at once.
