how to modify the pedal on Act Labs RS ?

by Aubre » Wed, 22 Mar 2000 04:00:00

Hi Tilus,

The friction will disappear somewhat with use.  I felt the springs were way
too weak for me, so I stuffed some foam *** sort of behind the pedals,
which also has the effect of pushing the pedals forward, and reduces the
friction.  You shouldn't have to open the case to do this.  For some reason,
the more your feet push backwards on the pedals, the worse the friction is.
Wish this wasn't so hard to explain.  ;o)

I hate the pedals on the LW, and i hate the mechanical feel of hate MS.

The Act labs wheel, looks and feels great, and it is a high quality unit for

Pedals looks good too, the pedal throw, and the pressure is just as i like,

stucking in position, it has BAD friction !

I am sure it can be modified, i want it to be REAL smooth !

Hi Tillus

Your prayers have been heard.

GTX_Slotcar is making mods for our Act Labs Pedals as we speek - he
will publish artickles on how to make them silky smooth here
http://home.maine.rr.com/deroy/howto.htm soon.

It is a great wheel isnt it.

GTX_Slotcar has some settings for FF in GPL you might want to try out,
go to the above mentioned homepage and see under controller/Game
Settings - I have found that his settings are very much to my taste.

I had the same stickiness in my pedals. I just filed the slots in the
linkages a little longer maybe a 1/16 " where the bushing are. Fixed it
right up.
