Can't comment on the pedals but there are lots complaining about they at the AL
forum, but then again the people not having problems wouldn't complain now would
they? ;-)
The Force RS is not the wheel it once was. Appears they changed the cartridge
design a couple years ago and the new one (v2.2) gives a very stepped output
(about 100 points from lock to lock). Picked up v2.1 cartridge off ebay and it
gives very smooth output (1024 points). With the 2.1 I'd have no problem
recommending the wheel. It's fairly solid and has strong FF, and with AL you
actually get technical support and replacement parts. Unfortunately they don't
seem to produce any 2.1 cartridges now. If someone recommends the Force RS ask
them what cartridge version or when they bought it (2.2s came out around July 2001).
Just from lurking around here the original Logitech Momo seems to be the FF
wheel of choice. Non-ff and no budget constraints then TSW, ECCI, etc are worth
looking at.
