.....and I cant wait fo rit to arrive. Im gonna quit my job (or at
least take a few days off) and become a Grand Prix Legend myself.
Oooooohhhhhhh the joy that awaits me.

I guess I need some settings for my core.ini

Anybody who has got some cool ones?

While I can't offer any settings, I can tell you that you're
absolutely right about the joy.  :)  I just got mine and have been
flying all over the UK in RC2K.  Wheeeeeee.....!

Hi Thomas,

There is a very divergent set of theories and preferences for the GPL
FF settings. One involves relatively low numbers for Damping, the
other very high. I am not sure what the logical ranges really are, but
the settings below are moderate examples of the extremes.

Try it both ways and see what you like:

[ Joy ]
allow_force_feedback = 1
force_feedback_damping = 600.000000
force_feedback_latency = 0.000000
max_steering_torque = 300.00000

or

[ Joy ]
allow_force_feedback = 1
force_feedback_damping = 20.000000
force_feedback_latency = 0.000000
max_steering_torque = 175.00000

I have seen damping values from 0 to 6000 posted (GTX_Stotcar is the
fellow who brought the high range to our attention), and a smaller
range (100 - 2000 for torque - never 0). Latency is an odd parameter.
0 is thoeretically best, but some (tiny) value can apparently help on
some PCs in avoiding odd FF response spikes.

Best thing is to fool around with the settings and figure out what you
like best. I like to test on the Nurburgring, since I have so many
opprtunities to have FF intesive "incidents" ;-).

Hope you get you wheel soon!

Not to rain on anybody's parade, but unless something has changed, I'm
afraid the RS Shifter won't work with GPL.  It has to be coded for
specifically, which means it will likely only be supported by new games.

Hello,

You're not serious, are you?  You are going to take off time from
work?  Sheesh.  Guess I don't have to do that since I can play right
at my work desk!  He he!
Really though, you better at least call in sick.  I remember when I
first got mine (before working at ACT LABS), I would go into work with
***shot eyes and people would ask me if everything was alright.
