F12000 - resolution problem causing screen loss...

by Felic » Mon, 27 Mar 2000 04:00:00

Has anyone else had this problem and how does one fix it??  I have a
an 8 meg Voodoo 2 card.  When the game boots up it goes by default
into 640 x 480 resolution.  I cannot select 800 x 600.  The problem
that follows is that the boot up screen and everyone other screen that
follows is not fully dislayed on the monitor - ie the bottom and right
hand side of the screens are missing.  I therefore can't select the
icons at the bottom of the screen meaning I have to 'guess where they
are' so that I can clickon them with the mouse and go further into the
game.

I can select 800 x 600 using software mode but this is obviously NOT
an option to playing the game.  Any fixes anyone???

Go into your control panel then the system folder, in your device manager
look for your monitor. Click properties, change driver and change the driver

easier way is to go in f12k folder/video.cfg file look at direct3d list
where it shows mode_800*600=0 change to 800*600=132

Bill, you are brilliant!  I have been ***ing around with drivers
for the last couple of days and beginning to tear my hair out thinking
it was the lack of video card memory causing it to go to a lower res.
However, your fix worked fine.  Thanks.  What does '132' mean anyway
and why would it not have been there in the first place?

Cheers
