NASCAR qualifying

Someone earlier posted a message asking about the one lap
qualifying at the short tracks.
At Martinsville with opponent stregnth set to 100% I was able to
qualify 8th using the defualt qualifying setup. For a long time I would
qualify 33rd or worse. The trick is to be as smooth as possible and to do
alot of opposite lock steering because the back end will be really slippery.
Remember in real NASCAR racing the difference between pole and 20th can
be a small fraction of a second.

Here's a little trick to cheat and improve your qualifying:

You can drive the course backwards nearly a full lap, spin the car
around, and get two more laps before the green flag drops.  This
really heats the old tires up and gives you a fighting chance when
the opponents are set at 100%.  I have been able to cross the line
during my "wrong-way victory lap", and the green flag will not drop
until I make up this lap, plus the usual one-lap warm up.

At Atlanta, I managed to go from dead last to the mid-***s using
this procedure.  I still get waxed in the full race, however, with
opponents set to 100%.  (My fast lap at Atlanta is currently
195.9 mph).  Anyone have a good setup that's working there?

Opps.  That should be 175.9 mph.
