Has anyone managed to get the above combination to work?

My wheel works fine in all other sims (GPL, TOCA, etc) but in Colin McRae
Rally I have no force feedback at all and the steering is virtually dead
(there is a massive "dead zone" then it just jerks left or right)

I have installed Codies latest patch but still no joy.

Anyone help would be greatly appreciated.

Try this it works great.
Start the Microsoft Profile Activator, choose file, choose new profile.
Set as follows; button A=return, button B=page up, button C=page down,
button X=escape, button Y=up arrow, button Z=down arrow, left
trigger=left arrow, right trigger=right arrow.

Save profile as CMR.

Buttons can be programed for any thing you want bt these seem to work
well for me.

Also in the GAME SETUP set steering, brakes and acceleration to ANALOG,
and set left paddle to PARKING BRAKE(really helps in 90degree turns),
and right paddle to PAGEUP so you can change views while racing.

Two cool cheat codes: at name enter DARKSIDE to race at night or FREEWAY
to get access to all tracks. (Note the UFO's while night racing!)

Had the same problems.
I did this; set _both_ Controllers in the game to Wheel. One of them
is probably set to keyboard now.
However, controlling the car is still very difficult since
auto-centering doesn't work correctly in CMR.

Hard to understand you're having such problems as for me CMR is one of the
best games with the MS FF Wheel. Main thing to remember is to make sure you
have Acceleration/Brake & Steering set to analogue not digital.
